Well we went to San Diego for a long weekend trip to visit. We left Friday morning when I woke up and came home last night late. We had so MUCH FUN! Visiting family, cousins, friends, etc. My sister flew in from Las Vegas and we stayed at the Ocean Beach Hotel. Yes right on the water! My babies loved loved loved loved it!
I would say Kirra, "where's the water, where's the ocean, where's the sand, where's the beach???" She would point right to it and say, "sand, ocean, beach, peeeeease!!!!!" She LOVED it! Her and Baili!!!! Kirra however was funny. Running to the ocean every time I put her back up with us on the beach she would run to the water as fast as possible. Diving in waves and rolling. Really LOVED it. Baili was building stuff with buckets of sand and water loving life. She loved the water when Mama was holding her! Why? Cuz I am the Mama! She trusts me. It was so fun to see Joanne, Don, Jennifer, Harper, all the Mission Beach and PB crowd.
It did remind me of my days I lived in San Diego for four yrs prior to kids. Only had to worry about work and my (boyfriend) at the time. Are you kidding me? Was such a non worry do whatever life....and I thought it was so hard....please. Just cleaning up after me and dealing with the daily life of working two jobs, going to beach, and keeping up with a relationship.
But I wouldn't change anything for the world... Just wish I still lived there but with my babies! Be on the beach everyday and see family. It was rainy and cloudy most days but sunny two days. We went to Sea World and saw yes, Shamu. Kirra didn't like the penguins and Baili LOVED them. Kirra liked the dolphins and the sting rays. Baili liked Elmo, man Baili liked it all!!! Kirra was definitely a OB gal and so was Baili. All the OB bums where telling the twins welcome to OB! They were a hit in OB. Lots of looks and questions. If you've been to OB you'd know. Or understand. Hit up the Pennant in MB and just had so much fun. Was it hard with twins you bet ya. My sister said a number of times she could never have kids and work. Way to hard or never have kids. She loves mine but says I don't know how you do it? She said she was so tired. I said this is only 6 days of you helping. She says I know and I am so tired I can't even explain. I think she understands know how hard a single momma to twins is. :) Especially with the 2's coming in with full force!!
It was a nice BUSY relaxing weekend. My sister stayed with me and the girls and my Dad and Denise stayed in a beach house in Mission Beach. We were in Mission most of the time except at night. Then Monday we OB' it all day long! So nice to wake up to waves and the ocean every morning. What a life!! So beautiful and relaxing!! Even though taking two toddlers wasn't easy at all. It was worth the experiences they had and they got to meet some family they never met before.
Did I say I drove them myself with twin one yr olds with a car packed to the rim! You bet ya! It was TOUGH!!! But worth it. Like where or when can I pee? Um can't leave them alone in the car??!! Overall they were pretty good travelers. Took 9 hours instead of 6 but who's counting. I won't even talk about the car sickness' and screaming. It may be a few yrs to do it again?
I did FORGET my bathing suit and camera. I know! :( I took a few pics on my phone but other than that didn't get pics. Auntie Joanne did so at least I will have those. Overall the girls loved SEAWORLD to death and the beach and all the happening stuff to do. They didn't nap once in all those days! They didn't want to miss out on all the fun! :) We really love San Diego and I know they will go back 100's of times to come. So cute to see their faces of touching the sand for the first time. Kirra would say it and, and, and, instead of sand. And Baili wouldn't let her legs down on it!! Did anything not to touch that sand, so FUNNY!!! She got used to it and was fine.... Kirra played with every kid she saw. You know how she loves kids!
Did I mention my Dad turns 60 tomorrow! Papa Burt and G'ma or Nana Denise spoiled them rotten in San Diego btw. It really was fun.
