Thanksgiving on my camera phone 2010.
Thanksgiving on my camera phone 2010.
- These are not the best pictures my Dad has thousands of the twins and their "Granny." This is all I could find on my computer. I will have to look for some more. Also being upset, I honestly don't feel like looking very hard.
- Anyhow my Grandmother passed away yesterday 4/3/11 around 2:40 pm, PST. She was a wonderful lady and great to my father (her only Son), my sisters, myself and adored her GREAT GRANDCHILDREN more than words. My Grandmother had three children, two girls, and my Dad. She had over 20 or more pregnacies, honestly I don't even know.... My Dad was lucky number 7 - only boy that made it out of 10 boy pregnancies. "She was always known as the pregnant Catholic lady."
- She was 90 years old when they were born and in the NICU ALL the time!! The only one in there with a mink coat and totally styling. She was a wonderful lady. She told me while we are in the NICU, "are we the only white people in here?" Oh Gramma I miss you... And honestly in the NICU we were the only toe head baby and one of the only white ones in there...to give her credit!
- Even on Thursday night, the last time I saw her she could talk a little, nails done, hair done, looking good. I have to say she had her own THICK hair, own teeth, own everything. All this started one week ago a trip to the ER and one week later she was gone. If you know her, you know what happened. She did tell my Dad, "Where is Fred? I need Fred, I want to see Fred." My Grandfather who died over 20 years ago. They were soul mates and married over 50 years. I know now she is at peace with him and the rest of the family. I love you Gramma more than I can explain. I just can't believe you are gone...
- One day she stated this to me after I had the twins, and I will never forget. "You know Katie, one day you become a Mother and you give your whole life up for your children. You would do anything for them, you would give your life up. You think you couldn't love anything more. Than you have Grandchildren, and they are your WHOLE life. You didn't think you could love anything more than your own children and you have an enormous amount of love for them than you ever did with your own kids. Not more but different. Than you have Great Grandchildren, my great grand daughters. Than the love is indescribable. It is too much Katie. Sometimes I cry just thinking about them. Just the thought is incredible."
- She really lived a great life of 92 years. You will be missed Gramma.
- Love,
- Katie
