Happy Halloween!! October 31, 2010. Fall is here...

Hello Family and Friends,

We had a fun filled weekend with lots of Halloween festivities. We went to the Phoenix Zoo on Saturday (even though we are members we don't go often). First it is about 35 minutes away one way and quite a trip with twins interrupting naps, meals, etc. but so WORTH the time and fun that was had! Yes we have a structured schedule, have to with twins. Peyton and Autum met us there and we were rolling around in the 90+ temps and it was lots of fun! Sunday we had lots of Halloween fun activities. I am so tired and so are the babies!! What fun having Auntie Courtney in town as well! Here are a few pics from today around the house and at Papa's for Halloween and dinner with the family. We did our trick or treating from Papa's house and home but we didn't go out in the streets. Kirra has a cold right now and now Baili is picking it up. So we wore our costumes at Papa's so we all could take tons of pics of the babies. Kirra was Elmo and Baili was a pumpkin at home of course. Kirra got really great at handing out ONE candy to each trick or treater. She is such a big girl!! We had a great family weekend.

Lots of love.
Happy Halloween!!

Bond??

I have been asked lately what type of bond do your girls have being twins/sisters is it different since they are twins? I had to think about this one since I see their bond daily and it is unbelievable.

Does their bond run deeper than a sister bond though because they are twins? I really do not think it matters because the bond they have is very special. Being a sister, I think a sisterly bond is special and being a mom of twins, I think that a twin bond is special too. Either answer will work for me. However I know they have a really special bond.

They are together all the time. Bathe together, sleep together, eat together, play together, go to Baili's doctor appointments together, go to the pumpkin patch together, anywhere we go they go together. Period. They don't know any other way. Kirra will not let Baili go see the doctor without her watching. We try to take her outside to play during that time and she screams. She wants to be with Baili. She and Baili LOVE each other and have to be together.

Kirra has had times alone when her sister is in the hospital and she stays back. Since babies or children can not go to visit. Hence who would want their baby in there unless they HAVE to be? Kirra is different without Baili. She is very needy and quiet and just not herself. Baili is very happy alone but needs me to play with her the whole time. She LOVES her sister. Kirra talks and plays with her all day. As soon as K wakes up she says, "sissy, sissy, sissy, sissy." Sissy is Baili and she is usually still asleep.

They hug and kiss all day long, literally. It used to just be K grabbing B for hugs and kisses but now Baili will crawl up to her and hug and puker up her lips! K brings her toys and shares all the time, do they share, yes!! Very well too. Do they fight? No not really ever. Will they have this bond forever? I sure hope so. My Mom did with her twin Uncle Tommy and my Aunt Carolyn did with her twin Uncle David. It doesn't just go away. My girls shared the same uterus, and bed in NICU after everything...they have been together since creation and birth.

So when people ask me how do you do it? That is so hard. Oh my God, that is to much. Yes strangers will let me know what they think... I think in my head "it's easier having two and it's special having two." I DON'T think it is harder and it is so special. Who gets to take naps together, bathe together, play together, go on walks together, go on play dates together, go to the park together, eat together, trick or treat together, dress together, go on planes together, dress alike together, visit Papa together, do fireworks - okay watch them together, go to the beach together, play in sand for the first time together, touch the ocean together, taste the ocean together, build sand castles together, check out animals at the zoo together, lay with Mommy together, and never be alone every single day??? My girls do and it is phenomenal.

I hope this answers the question a tad. Their bond is indescribable but I tried to explain it a little.

The Mama

23 months old already???????? Where has the time gone??

Kirra at home so tired. My little baby.

Baili in NICU almost out....so around 3 months old.

Baili in NICU my angel!!!!!

The night we left!!!!! Well Baili anyhow. Kirra had been out for a month. I was already back to work.

Here's me Pregnant 27 1/2 weeks along...no clue what I was signing up for. :) I only made it two more weeks... I had no clue.

Kirra and Baili in the NICU. Oh man this time was rough. Still make me cry.

Aunt Coco with Baili girl on X-Mas. She was 3lbs at birth and got down to 2lbs. It was scary. Such a happy love even in the NICU. I have to say there were a lot of great nurses and some REALLY BAD ones. I made sure my girls were well taken care of when I wasn't there.

Love this one of Kirra remember when she was a toe head?????

Mommy and Kirra angel. February 2009.

So my girls are almost 2 yrs old where has the time gone?? Can't we go back to the infant stages?? Oh I miss my itty bitty babies. Kirra and Baili have blown away most doctors "that told me we just don't know with tears in their eyes."

Kirra is doing wonderful and all caught up for her age. Her peditrician says she is above a 23 month old. I am not one to brag but she was a preemie, 29 weeker, only 3.3lbs. Now she speaks in sentences, runs, plays, communicates, loves all children and people. She is a social butterfly!! She has passed all odds and she is my little leader. The other day my dad was on the couch with Baili sleeping what him and Bai do best...anyhow Kirra came up to me and said kid you not, "Papa Baba night night couch" she is only 1yrs old! She just picks up everything so fast. She is a size 5 shoe give or take, tall, and medium built to thin. Red hair, pale skin, a little bit Irish and a little bit German. She is truly a WONDERFUL baby/toddler and listens and is polite! I love her to pieces!!! She is a mini me and my angel.

Baili is doing wonderful as well!!! She is my little pumpkin I call her. She is my Baili bug! She is tiny and I mean tiny. She is a size 2 shoe with a petite build. Short and small but just right! She is contiuing with SP, DSI, PT, OT, and DSI II weekly and really doing great. She is our miracle. She is crawling up a storm!!! She is at my leg pulling at me, mamamama, and wanting up. She loves to play hard and loves her sister!!! I am truly blessed with two because they play together rather than me entertaining one only. When K was sick and B was up all day I lived what it was like with only one. Baili needed my attention and play all day long, no nap! Now I see they love each others company so MUCH! Baili truly is the best baby ever! I love her so much and thank God for her everyday, what a miracle and blessing I have. She is copying everything I do and is such a love.

In one month and four days they will be 2 and I can't believe it!

Mama's Angels.

She really does love her costume, I swear. :) She was afraid of falling off the chair. Poor baby.

Addicted to milk, no really!

Yep still downing the milk...

Some of my favorite quotes related to Motherhood and children:

Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.

Stevie Wonder

I know if mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
Jeff Foxworthy

A new baby is like the beginning of all things - wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.

Carrying a baby is the most rewarding experience a woman can enjoy. But raising one is the most rewarding experience you can ever do.
