21 MONTHS OLD TODAY, 8/30/10
Baili - Isn't she just as cute as pie?
This is the night she got out of the hospital, crazy how kids are so happy when they are home!!
The girls turned 21 months old today...
Where has the time gone?
To my knowledge the last weight check.
On my scale at home...
Baili is 22 pounds even.
Kirra is 25.8 pounds.
Both are still kind of small girlies!
Baili is short with chubby feet and a smaller frame.
Kirra is tall and slender with a pop belly.
Baili wears size 2 shoes!
Kirra wears size 6 shoes!
Both girls have been growing lots!
Kirra's feet all of a sudden are starting to look like mine, big!
She started running and using bones she never did before walking, and now her feet just grew over night. Literally. Last week she was a size 4, I promise, now a 6! Kirra is doing great, talking up a storm and such a HAPPY toddler. Loves her Momma, Dada, Baba, Papa, Nana, etc. She is very funny and beautiful. We love her to death!!! No problems at all with sick or anything with being a preemie, 12 weeks early and 3 pounds, just 21 months ago. She is caught up and doing great! We thank the lord everyday for her!!!
Baili is doing great as well. We are still off the tube! One week and counting!! She is a very happy girl!!! Loves her Mama, Dada, Kirra, and anyone else who comes her way. She is progressing daily and we pray for her each day for how far she has come. She is definitely the clown. Loves to be funny and has a deep belly laugh that is so funny. Then if she is mad she cries like someone is about to kill her. So DRAMATIC!! I start laughing at her. I was going to put Kirra's slippers on her and well she wanted nothing to do with that. She turned away and yelled and I still tried to do it... Then she tightened up and screamed bloddy murder. Once you stop she smiles. I am like really Baili? She likes to get her way! She is a doll, and a wonderful baby! Progressing every day which is wonderful!
Happy 21 months old my twins! I love you!!! SOme days you make me crazy but I love ya anyway!
Love,
Mommy
Mom and Kirra
Kirra is my best friend.
Baili is as well of course.
I am lucky I have 2 best friends!
Literally I live for these kids.
I am so lucky to have them.
Kirra went on some trips with me this weekend to do some one on one time with Mommy.
We went everywhere.
Kirra loved the Petstore.
Since it will be the closest she ever gets to having a animal at my home!
We can look though...
And visit other people's homes with pets.
Like Papa's house has cats and a dog.
Her Dad's house has 3 dogs as well.
She is kind of afraid of dogs.
She also went to Starbucks.
Pictures above from Starbucks.
She likes their baby food applesauce stuff...
She was a big hit there.
I turned around and she joined a lady's table that was drinking a coffee.
A girl my age and was so happy.
I said she is very social, she even offered to babysit.
Kirra went around and talked to everyone.
She was adorable of course!
Everyone loved her.
She went on many errands with me and did a lot of mom and daughter time. :)
Off course we had a crazy weekend, bday party to attend, and tons of other stuff to do. Overall extremely busy in my world but a lot of fun.
Happy Monday all!
Katie :)

Baili is off the tube as of now. Pray for her progress!!!
Baili is a grinning fool.
Apparently, she loves the camera.
She is kind of a clown girl like that.
She knows how good looking she is.
Oh no did I say that?
Her new nickname lately is “West-Side.”
For those of you from AZ know why.
For those who aren’t well maybe if you visit AZ one day you’ll understand.
Here is a video of her normal happy self.
Video will be posted today.
The video was taken yesterday...
By the way Baili is off the tube!
Did I say off the tube?
Yes she has gone OFF THE TUBE!!!!
Only took 21 months of prayer, patience, and hard work.
GO Baili we are so very proud of you!!
Kirra likes her Ballet outfit and tutu.
I think she looks very girly in it myself.
Besides spilling her water down the front.
She tends to spill when drinking from a cup with no top.
She is our girly girl…
Her nickname is “Scottsdale….”
Wonder Why?
Always dressing herself up.
Always wants anyones jewlrey.
She is the ultimate girly girl.
She loves her bows!
Yes cause I love to put them on!
Again, her new name is “Scottsdale…”
Baili Morning After Hospital....and on her way back for check-ups.
Baili - The first day of the rest of her life. We HOPEFULLY are all done with tube feedings as long as we GAIN and MAINTAIN her weight. She needs to continue to eat ALL her foods and her vanilla Pedisure (3 cans a day) in her tummy by mouth. WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU BAILI GIRL!!!! You have come so far! Most days she has been drinking 4 or 5 cans a day now! Because she isn't full from the night time feeds. She is SO HAPPY!! Can sleep on her tummy now, etc. Anyone who has dealt with a tube feeding for 21 plus months knows how beautiful this day is for us! Yeah Baili!!!!!!

Sesame Street Imagination, Elmo
My girls favorite new U-Tube video this week.
They love it.
I think I like it too.
Kirra says, "again, again, more, more, more, Elmo, Elmo, Elmo....."
Baili says, "loud noises -- meaning more!"
Oh to be a kid again. :)

Kirra Driving
She likes to drive.
She likes to sit up front.
She crawls right in as I am putting Baili in her car seat
She likes to be in control.
Is this a Twin A thing?
A first born thing?
Is she like her Mommy?
She doesn't know it's illegal.
She never will be up front for years to come.
She will keep trying....
She is happy for the moment she thinks she won.
Until next time she will be in her car seat.
It is fun to play though.
Oh the unthinkable happens when I move her to the back...
She will try again.

My Little Princess'
My darlings are moving right along with their development. =)
Kirra had a test from AZ Parenting (DSI) Developmental Specialists- people last Saturday. I called them to come and do activities with the girls bi-monthly. It’s free and they have great stuff!! They tested her on her colors using bags (gift bags) that were solid colors as one activity of many. She knew most of them!! We said which one is yellow? She points right to it and says…”yello” which one is green? “Grea” and so on!! She really amazes me because she picks things up only teaching her one time! She is so easy in that respect! I will ask her say, “uncle” she spit out “uncle” and “aunt” and “oh know….” Basically whatever I say, she will try to repeat. Of course has the thinking eyes and face on first.
I read the other day most kids her age pick up a whopping 350 words a week and we don’t even realize it… I don’t know where that stat came from but she sure understands a ton more than I thought. I ask her go throw this away and she will. She only knows “1 garbage” in our 3 level home because that is the one I said this is the garbage. We throw things away here. So she will be upstairs and go down two flights and throw it away and be right back. Even though upstairs there are three garbage cans. I have a little helper!! I ask her where’s your tongue she shows me, she is really surprising me!!
Baili on the other hand is waving bye, bye now and trying to crawl, clapping, and some words. Progressing every day and working so hard at pulling herself up. I think personally she wants to she just has low muscle tone….Baili is the HAPPIEST little sucker and I mean LITTLE she is so petite and tiny, my little baby with LOUD lungs!
We started the “potty” with Kirra…just getting used to it. Reading books on Potty, watching yes, Mommy go potty. We have one upstairs and one downstairs (2 small separate potty’s) and one on the toilet upstairs in the girls bathroom. Getting comfy on them for now… I read to take it slow. She seems ready to me. I know I read they have to be in a bed out of a crib and all so she isn’t ready for that. My plan is to try and see what happens. I hope by 2 ½ for Kirra or 3 for sure. Might as well start now! She can show me the potty, sit on it, and tell me when she is pooping. So my Dad (Papa) says, if she can tell you before she goes - she can go on the potty and that girls are way faster than boys?? Hmmm just at least trying to make it available for her. She is very interested for now. She reminds me to brush her teeth at night and says “teeth” and gives Baili a brush too.
We are going to have toddlers soon and I can’t wait!

The LOVE they have for each other. :)
Mommies Blog Today:
I have grown so deeply and completely in love with both my girls for the past 28 months or so.... They are almost 21 months now and even when in my womb- the love and connection started.
I am so grateful to feel this for them. And it's amazing to me that I can feel this love for Baili, and at the same time, feel my love for Kirra, too. And still be whole. Someone told me once that I would love them both intensely, and I would love them equally, but I would love them differently. That didn't make sense to me then, but I get it now. The love I have for both of them is so overwhelming; it almost takes my breath away, but somehow (I can't begin to explain it) I'm able to distinguish between the two. It's as if I love one with one part of me and one with the other, yet I love both of them as one whole person.
That's the best way I can put it into words.
Someday when you two can read this.... You may someday understand how deeply in love I am with both of you equally. You make me look at life in a whole new way. You make me want to be a better person. I love you both more than life and would take my life any day, to save one of you.
I can't say that for many, but for my girls, I would give my life in an instant. I now get it when my Mom would do anything for me. If I didn't like my shoes she'd give me hers. Literally, I would say no thanks, LOL. Mom, I now get it. I wish she could of lived to meet her first Grandchildren. I know she would be SO IN LOVE. For now we have her as my children's guardian angel.
I love you two more than anything. I hope you get the delight to have babies one day and children. Possibly twins - ha what am I saying - you have no choice! One of you will have twins, you don't have the chance not to. It's a genetic family female thing! I hope you both get the delight for this awesome feeling. It is undescribeable until it happens. :-)
Same with many things in life, you don't get it until you have to go through it. This is with everything, special needs child, birth, being a Mommy, having twins, you only really get it if you have gone through it. I hope one day my children get this undescribeable love one day.
Kirra is Baili's Mom at times or she thinks she is. It is so funny. Everyone tells me oh they will fight, and yell, pull hair, toys, ect. My twins have never fought. I know sounds crazy. It is true. They are only 21 months and the time will come. I know. Kirra is SO CARING for her sister. Like she was born to care for Baili its having her learn empathy. Some say children under three don't understand empathy or can't give it. I disagree. She has empathy for her sister and this helps her become a healthy good individual for our society. If Baili cries she goes up those stairs in seconds and yells, "Baba I com" or "sissy I com" or "BaBa BaBa" and she goes straight to where Baili is and comforts her. She talks to Baili and I hear nothing, no more crying, just them talking. They really love each other so much and for that I am greatful. They really have a bond that I have never seen. Kirra gets mad at me plenty but never, never Baili. Kisses and hugs her all day long and they talk. They truly share the same soul. :)
I ask for Kisses I only get them when they want to give them to me. For each other always no hesitation when I ask them to kiss or hug each other. So funny.
Love,
Mommy

Kirra
Papa and Nana Denise playing with the girls...Saturday and Sunday.
The twins had lots of time with Papa and Nana Denise on Saturday and Sunday. I guess my Dad's new name is "Papa." I guess it's easy for them to say. Didn't plan it, just kind of became that way. Kirra started calling Denise "Nana D" awhile ago. They missed them while in San Diego and I was able to get a haircut while they played! Here are some pictures... My Dad loves to be outside and swim, swing, whatever - just outside. I am more of a inside person. However we had great weather this weekend. Cloudy with some rain in the 70's and 80's in July in Phoenix!! Both girls love thier new swings that Papa put up and of course the pool time. :) So glad my Dad can spend time with them and Denise, the girls love it. They don't see grandparents that much so when they do I know they love it!
