McDonalds

Kirra, Peyton, Baili, and Amanda.  Just eating happy meals and entertaining in great conversations.  This was from the beginning of summer but so cute.  See how they are all barefoot at McDonalds play land.  Yes.  Gross.  To be a kid.

Family.

Every day my daughter Kirra, who talks a lot, tells me, "MOMMY, LISTEN MOMMY, Mommy, I love you Mommy," with the kindest smile you'd ever imagine.  This isn't just once a day.  This is over twenty or maybe more.  Kinda borderline obsessed?  Baili talks a lot less but does say "love you" and will kiss me out of the blue and say, "hug."  This is huge for Baili she is a very quiet little girl.  She is very attached to me and always on me per say, so she shows her love in a different way.

I was thinking the other day and I just can't imagine my life without my children.  They ARE what matters in life.  I was thinking back about the lesson, the five balls of life.  One ball is rubber and the other four are glass.  If you read, Tuesdays with Morrie you'd understand what I am talking about.  I read that book one day over ten years ago for a college class, when I didn't even think I'd ever be a Mommy.  It wasn't even about being a Mom it was about life and how you take it.  Here they are in no particular order:  work, family, health, friends, and integrity.  Imagine life is a game in which you are juggling five balls.  The balls are called work, family, health, friends, and integrity.  And you're keeping all of them in the air.  But one day, you finally come to understand that work is a rubber ball.  If you drop it, it will bounce back.  The other four balls— family, health, friends, integrity—are made of glass. If you drop one of these, it will be irrevocably scuffed, nicked, perhaps even shattered.  And once you truly understand the lesson of the five balls, you will have the beginnings of balance in your life.

I write this blog for my kids to see one day how their life was growing up but mainly to show them how much they are loved.  I never have asked Kirra if she loves me this is her own doing.  This proves children DO HAVE compassion.  Kirra watches over her twin like she is her doctor.  Tells her all the time, be careful Baili.  Baili doesn't want to swim I asked her, Baili don't fall, Baili it's not scary, Baili do you like salad? And on and on.  It shows children are not all about work, work, work, hence they are lucky they don't have to be at such a young age but it's a eye opener to what is important.  Family.  I know I am a workaholic and I do work most of my time because I have to but I am trying to see the small things in life like painting Kirra's toes or watching a movie with her on the couch or reading as many books as Baili wants one night (which could be 50).  Trying to balance my life and not consume it.

A Day In The Life of Kirra and Baili.

Kirra working on the computer.  She loves Nick Jr. games and such.  Pretty dam good too.  Also watering my one plant.  Hey it's still alive!!

Eating dinner with Nana and the family.  Chomping on corn and garlic bread and a bbq hot dog after swimming.  Kirra was very happy because she was eating in the living room (TV room).  She has never done that before.  Anywhere.  This was at my Dad's house of course.  Funny she will only let Nana wash her (bathe her) after dinner at my Dad's.  Everywhere else she will only allow me. LOL.  And we are talking she will be loud and scream if anyone else does it.  She is a true red head.

There have been a lot of change in my life in the last week.  This quote really hit home for me.

The girls talking to Aunt Coco on the computer for the first time ever!  So EXCITED!!  Yelled at me to go away!!!!!

Baili doing what she does best PLAY!!!!!!

Girls FIRST Swimming Lessons.

Here are some pictures of the girls at their swim lessons.  Luckily, I was able to attend most of them.  The girls loved Mommy being there with them.  These lessons basically were just getting the girls comfortable in the water and jumping in, etc.  Today was their last day so they went down the BIG slide and got popsicles and rewards.  Baili did really good.  She isn't huge on swimming but she jumped in and listened and kicked and even did "ice cream scoops" which is swimming freestyle basically.  Before this Baili didn't want to go near the water so we succeeded.  She is more aware this summer that she could drown and she is a very cautious little lady.  Kirra is a very daring little lady so she is more about it.  I can't wait for them to be on swim team one day, like my sisters and I were for years.  Kirra loves the water and loved it however she gets scared to actually swim.  She likes the shallow end.  The lessons were for two weeks, 8 days for 30 minutes each day with a total of 8 kids.  Happy Summer!

Laugh for the Day.

I thought this was the funniest thing I have seen on pinterest in a very long time.  If you work a FULL TIME job and run a home and raise children (especially twins and one with special needs) you understand this fully.  Or if you are a FULL TIME MOMMY and a FULL TIME WORKER you understand....  I can't stop laughing. :)  I find it humorous when people say they are sooooooooooo busy at home but get to go to the gym all the time.  Try running a business on the side??  hmmmm.

Spa/Rock-Star/Princess Party for Mandy's 3rd Birthday.

Here is a picture of three week old baby Tyler.  He is sooo cute and a little miracle for them. :)  I won't tell his story as that is private but he is truly a miracle that God was watching over and healthy as ever.

From pedicures, manicures, facials, dancing, rock-stars, lotion making, princess dresses, we had a lot of fun at Mandy's 3rd b-day.  It was so fun and very intimate with five girls total including my two.  Really made me think how FUN it can be to have a small little birthday party that you can enjoy and not be stressed out and actually participate.

The girls played afterwards in the rain and sprinklers and sandbox - eating pizza and ice cream.  It was a fun long day!  Love that my friend Venecia and I found each other on Facebook.  We were friends since fifth grade when she moved to AZ and then I had not talked to her in over ten to fifteen years.  Now our kids play all the time!  For that I am grateful.  Maybe Facebook has one good benefit besides people posting pictures of places that I am jealous of that I can never go too.  LOL.

Happy Birthday Mandy my girls best friend!!

Katie
