What Is Important.

 Sunday, August 21, 2011.

Here are some pics from yesterday and today.  We ran over to the mall to the Paradise Valley mall playland.  It is very HARD to track Kirra there.  If you've taken her...you know exactly what I am talking about!!  She ran out of sight so many times....  Other strangers helping me find her.  So stressful!  One time it took at least 5 minutes to find her and I was already thinking about the search going out.  At our mall's playland OUTSIDE of it there are more rides and a HUGE choo choo train driving through the mall.  This can distract Kirra to say the least.  I am watching Baili, my purse, our bags, stroller, and Kirra.  If I take my eyes off Kirra for a second sometimes she is gone!  So scary...we made it home safe and sound.  She always fights me too when we have to leave.  Like a big fight.  Oh well.  Everything for both girls lately is I DO IT MYSELF!!!  Like if I carry them to the car.  They need (Kirra) at least has to go back inside and do the whole deal herself!  Everything she has to try it or do it herself.  Very independent around here.  Both girls copy each other like little birds.  So funny...  I said push up your sleeves before you eat so you don't make a mess.  Baili has to push hers up for ten minutes too, even though she has a t shirt on with no sleeves, ha.  I just say whatever.

Okay the reason for the post...  I have a cousin probably many with twins.  But this one is my Mom's cousin's daughter's daughter.  I think?  Anyhow one of her twins has cancer on the spine.  I think she is 5.  Her name is Emma.  She had it young like at 1 or 2.  They removed it.  It came back.  I think they have to remove it again if successful.  Then chemo for a year and then wear a brace until she is 13.  If she makes it.  She also has two other kids (one twin boy and a younger one).  So I am told by others in the family.  It is very bad and not a lot of hope.  So if you are reading this and can say a prayer for my little cousin Emma who is a twin who is only 5, thank you.  This story reminded me of the movie with Julia Roberts (she was the step mom) and the Mom with cancer.  I can't think of the name of the movie right now.  But how the whole family was brought together after so much anger and hate.  To not forget about the small stuff.  Like the gift of life.  If you have something going on in your life that makes you upset really think about it.  Think of Emma who has no choice.  Think of the movie Step Mom (I just remembered the name) when she road away on horses with her kids in the middle of the night to watch the snow fall on them.  Because it was something she always dreamed of.  I know that is just a movie but Emma's life is real.  That movie was based off of a true story.  Hugs your kids.  Tell your family you love them.

Anyway just sad.  I can't imagine what my cousin is feeling.  Worst thing to happen to anyone is to lose a child.  I pray Emma makes it but we just don't know.  So I took this picture of my darlings this am (on the top).  I am so THANKFUL to God for giving me my two healthy twins.  I am so lucky and they are so lucky to have my family, their Daddy, their Daddy's family, and I take care of them and LOVE them so much!

Thank you God for my babies and please be there for my cousin and her other kids and family to get through this...tough time.  My Mom lost her twin boys in 1985 and really she was a changed person after that happened to her.  I pray for Emma.

Remember if you have problems or issues in your life right now think how important they really are?  Think of people out there with bigger issues like cancer.  I see them at the hospital for appts a lot with Baili.  Kids with cancer.  Probably the saddest thing I have ever seen.  Those are things to get upset about.  So I try to disregard the little things and be thankful for what I have.

The Mama

Little Eyes Upon You.

There are little eyes upon you
and they're watching night and day.
There are little ears that quickly
take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager
to do anything you do;
And a little girl who's dreaming
of the day she'll be like you.
You're the little fellow's idol,
you're the wisest of the wise.
In her little mind about you
no suspicions ever rise.
She believes in you devoutly,
holds all you say and do;
She will say and do, in your way
when she's grown up just like you.
There's a wide-eyed little gal
who believes you're always right;
and her eyes are always opened,
and she watches day and night.
You are setting an example
every day in all you do;
For the little girl who's waiting
to grow up to be like you.

The Little Things In Life. Things I HEART.

 Cartoon Time...

 Just got up from a nap.  Finger in her nose every time.  I tell her you want friends you can't pick your nose.  My Mom said that to me.  She says, "Friends, yes, yes friends!"  As she continues to dig...

Isn't she pretty????  Even after a nap. :)  I heart her!!

Some pictures of things I LOVE.

Cupcake.

Kirra kept screaming to my cousin "I NEED CHOCOLATE CAKE!!"  Over and over and over and over again, so funny.  As they were waiting for their cupcakes.  (Not seen there were five little kids at this table dying for some cake).  My cousin Bridget said, "I do too Kirra."  Here's a picture of the twins at their cousin Brady's 2nd bday.  Small family gathering.  I love those kind.  I must say "I need" a lot.  Because Kirra says it a lot.  "I need milk, I need water, I need candy."  She mimics me.  Tells Baili what to say all the time too.  "Baili say Mama, Baili say cake," she is teaching Baili how to talk which is a plus.  She is my mini speech therapist!!

We had a number of cousins at this party all baby or young.  They were all kissing each other.  Very cute!

September 8, 2011

Baili has to get her tonsils removed and her adenoids removed.  Long story short it will help with her sleep apnea, eating, gaining weight, chronic double ear infections, and among other things.  I just don't wanna do it!!  I feel like a kid and want to yell....  I DON'T wanna!!!!  They have to put her under and I am very afraid every time we do anesthesia.  Especially on a 2 yr old.

September 8 is the big day. :*(  She will be in the hospital for two days for monitoring since she is only 2 yrs old.  Her sleep apnea seems to be getting worse so we are doing it now.  It isn't okay to stop breathing when sleeping she does it all night long.  Her tonsils are a level 4?  Level 1 is the smallest and level 4 is as big as they can get.  Yeah.  That is just great (being sarcastic)!  We were referred to the ENT doctor from the pediatrician.  He took one look and said she needs them out.  After asking us many questions.  That means they almost touch.  They are big for a 2 yr old and Baili is less than half the size of an average 2 yr old.  Well I don't know...  We are below the charts meaning the negative section...  So we are small.  So having tonsils very enlarged affects her a lot.  She will be able to eat better and gain weight, less ear infections, coughing, and most importantly her sleep apnea.  It isn't a for sure deal that she has it like a sleep study but we watch her wake up all night long and stop breathing since birth.  I guess I ignored it because I didn't want another deal.

Maybe I will get a good nights rest too once we are healed and done with all of this....

On a positive note she is happy as ever and starting to do a few steps and standing all by herself.  We are so proud of her every single day!  Little miracle baby/toddler!  Here are some pics of Baili over the past few years...

Baili will start her preschool in PVSD Paradise Valley School District in December when she turns 3. :)

Yogurtini Time

Yogurt time in Phoenix is a very busy place!!  Everyone is dying from the heat here!!  Baili took one bite and spit it out and then people watched the whole time.  She literally faces the other way and won't even look at Kirra and I.  So don't let her fool you!!  She is maintaining weight which is nice!  Kirra ate hers and Baili's so at least it wasn't wasteful!

Sleeping Angels. Kirra and Baili on 8-10-2011. Good Night

I watched a little face sleeping,
Eyelashes fluttering so,
I wondered of the dream you were having,
and if Angles were playing there.

I watched a little face sleeping,
Your little mouth was smiling so,
I hope that you are as happy as me,
holding you in my arms.

I watched a little face sleeping,
making sure of the breath you take,
to watch you breathe and keep you safe,
is all that matters to me.

I watched a little face sleeping,
holding your small hand in mine,
five little fingers on each hand,
as one hangs onto mine.

I watched a little face sleeping,
and as I prayed to myself,
I thank God for letting me
watch a little face sleeping.

Baili GI Hospital Visit on 8/8/11 Update.

My little one has gained a little and maintained weight...we are doing okay. We don't have to go back to GI until November. First time ever not having to go almost monthly! Off to the ENT tomorrow for her tonsils. At least one down. I am so happy she maintained weight and gained 6 grams a day the last 53 days. Yeah!  Tons of detail to it...but the important thing is she is maintaining and going up on her growth chart.  We are off the charts with weight and height BUT we have a slope going UP we were going down.  Now our slope for weight and height is going UP steady and slowly but good for Bai!  I cry, she cries, we both hate GI because it is always bad news.  Today was good.  I am thankful for that!  No hospital stay for Bai!

Now off to the ENT again tomorrow.  We are most likely getting her tonsils removed.  Due to sleep apnea and large tonsils.  Affecting her breathing (since birth) but I guess I was trying to pretend it wasn't happening since she has been through so much!  We will see what the ENT says.  She stops breathing during the night or any sleep times.  She does this all night long.  He said it could affect her eating too.  They could be in the way and she could eat faster and maybe gain weight without them.  We will see.  I would rather not take them out BUT if she is not breathing all night and waking up she never gets REM sleep and getting a good night sleep.  She snores too like a 400 pound man so that probably isn't normal for a 23 pound tiny girl...

Today she is 23 pounds 4 ounces, and around 32 inches (I think).  I worry so much about weight I tend to forget the height.  I just make sure she is going up!  She is my petite baby.  Doing well in progressions too across the board!  Oh our miracle million dollar baby and counting...
